MONTHLY HIGH FIVE!

Our June 2021 High Five goes out to Denise McGrail!

This month, our High Five goes out to Denise McGrail! Denise is being recognized for the impact she has had in her first few months after joining the Fresh Perspective Home Care family. She is outstanding caregiver who maintains a flexible schedule so she can provide compassionate care to her clients when they need it most. Denise picks up extra shifts to ensure those in need aren’t alone and is always happy to help others. As the home care industry faces challenges with significant staffing shortages, it’s refreshing to know that caregivers like Denise are there to lend an extra hand wherever needed. We appreciate Denise as much as her clients do as she consistently makes it a priority to provide quality, compassionate care to others. Thank you, Denise, for being part of the Fresh Perspective family! We are so grateful for you!

MONTHLY HIGH FIVE!

Congratulations Rachel Greenway! Our May 2021 High Five Award Recipient!

This month, our High Five goes out to Rachel Greenway! Rachel joined the Fresh Perspective Home Care family about 6 months ago. In this short time, she has acquired a wide range of caregiver skills and grown to be recognized as one of our top performers. First and foremost, Rachel can always be counted on to provide respectful/compassionate care to her clients. She also maintains her compliance and training on time and volunteers to fill available shifts, ensuring our clients receive the assistance they deserve.

Most recently, Rachel accepted the role of On-Call Weekend Caregiver. This important role serves as a backup for clients whose scheduled Caregiver is not able to provide service on their scheduled weekend shift. Rachel has proven to be very adaptable to a variety of client personalities and their diverse care needs. Rachel is truly a team player and dedicated to our shared Mission and Goals. Congratulations and a big high five for a job well done! We look forward to your continued success with Fresh Perspective Home Care.

Affiliate Member Spotlight:
Fresh Perspectives Home Care & Fresh Perspective Care Academy

Part of Fresh Perspective Home Care’s Mission is to service its Clients with honest, patient, and compassionate care in the comfort of their own home with a focus on privacy, dignity, well-being, and overall quality of life. To support this mission, they maintain a strong focus on the education and training provided to their Caregivers through the Fresh Perspective Care Academy. The Care Academy includes both a live and online training platform. It has grown significantly to include over 1500 hours of content including a variety of training specific to the industry, customer service, communication, administration, and many more. In 2020, Fresh Perspective added a fully equipped in-house training facility to its Care Academy. This facility includes a socially distanced classroom for in-person and live video training along with several pieces of DME (durable medical equipment) often used in client homes while providing care. These initiatives allow caregivers the flexibility to expand their skillset, train in a controlled environment and complete coursework at their own pace.

Fresh Perspective Home Care, however, is not the sole caregiving source for its clients. Family, friends, spouses, and neighbors also play a large caregiving supportive role. This begged the question as to how to reach these supportive caregivers and provide them with a level of education and training. As a result, the Fresh Perspective Family Learning Center was created. The Family Learning Center is a free on-line tool filled with video and written content designed to help family and friends learn to better care for their loved ones. Topics include: Memory Care, Caregiver Basics, First Aid, Medical Conditions, and Assistance with Daily Care to name a few. This valuable learning tool not only provides insight into the challenges faced by those in need of supportive home care, it also includes course work to help individuals grow their companion and family caregiver skills. The Family Learning Center is free to everyone.

Visit their website at www.FreshPerspectiveHomeCare.com and click on ‘Client Resources’ to access the Family Learning Center or simply type http://flc.ipced.com/freshperspectivehomecare into your browser.

MARCH IS NATIONAL NUTRITION MONTH!

Meeting a Senior’s Dietary Needs

As our loved ones age, their nutritional needs change, as do their abilities to tolerate various food textures and flavors. Dexterity challenges might make it more difficult to eat foods that crumble. Swallowing issues due to stroke or Parkinson’s might make larger bites more challenging. Denture or jaw pain might make it tough to take smaller bites. Generally, our taste buds will age as well, making foods that used to be appealing seem bland or, conversely, overly spicy. Seniors left to their own devices may start to avoid the challenges of meal preparation altogether, shorting themselves on valuable nutrition.
